Yeah, I have definitely seen it from that point as well. But I think that the authors are really just trying to make all of us understand that a part of our lifestyle could be oppressive if we chose to view it that way. I am like you, I feel good in makeup and wearing cute clothes and shaving my legs. I do want to be a mother someday and get married. I do not see these as oppressive ideas, however, somebody else might. And honestly, I don't believe that feminism calls us to step away from what makes us female, it really just wants us to fight for whatever we believe we deserve as being female in the type of society.

My answer to your first two questions is the same...No. I don't think you are a traitor and you are not alone.
I think there is a difference in the way that men and women govern their lives and decisions they are faced with. I sometimes wonder, amongst all of the feminist outcrys, if men were placed in charge for a reason? I sometimes wonder if women were placed to be the caregivers for a reason. If women are supposed to be the compassionate caregivers to everyone around them, then I don't know that I would put one in charge of an entire country. And since men are indeed so territorial and not an emotional wreck once a month, I wonder if it is a better idea that they lead our country. Just an idea.

What about the women who can't get to Planned Parenthood? What about the women who are in abusive relationships, where their partner won't allow them access to things of this nature? Women who work two or three jobs and simply can't get there?

I agree with the concept that we must take responsibility for ourselves and our bodies - I'm just asking you to think about the situations that others might find themselves in...

Keep up the good work!

Very good job!! What a great entry! I will say that the authors/editors of the texts and essays don't want to take any of those things away from you - they just want you to **think** about them and what they mean. You are obviously doing that, and making a wonderful job of it. Being an actively aware, questioning feminist is more than many feminists are able to do. So many people do want to restrict the choices of others, and that's always a bad idea.

Keep up the excellent work!
